Importance of an Annual Eye Exam Dakota Sciences emphasizes the importance of having your eyes examined regularly by an Independent Doctor of Optometry or Ophthalmologist. These practitioners are focused on ocular health and are highly trained and skilled in their field. People often put off having regular eye exams, because they feel "My vision is Fine". Even if you don't need Visual Correction, with today's advancements in diagnostic equipment and practitioner techniques, a myriad of disorders can be detected through an eye exam making the eyes the "Windows to the body".
